These large works consist of two and sometimes three large canvas panels, each measuring eight feet high by four feet wide ( complete pieces measuring either 8ft x 8ft or 12 ft x 8ft ). The sequential panels make reference to religious altarpieces as well as forming natural and symbolic boundaries between places, memories or events.
The works often depict dark figures sometimes seemingly helpless in a strange bed. These people appear contained or even trapped but they are always in a state of transition, being transported across a threshold which is often defined by the natural break between the panels.
