Sam Fleming is a visual artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

His work has been exhibited  in Ireland, the UK and  the USA.  He has conceived and organised collaborative projects with other artists  from Belfast, London, New York and California.

The recurring theme of Sam Fleming's work is a fascination with the fine line which exists between despair and hope,     condemnation  and redemption and ultimately,  death and life.

His most recent  paintings are  influenced by  the themes of self reflection and redemption contained in   ‘The Quiet City’ , a symphony by Aaron Copland  inspired by themes contained in  play written by Irwin Shaw in the late 1930s. .

These  paintings document  Sam Fleming's  journeys around  Victoria Park  in his native  city of Belfast . They reflect a cathartic personal experience  and a return to landscape as subject matter.
